IndustriALL presenta demanda contra Roy Robson por continua represión antisindical

24 April, 2018La marca alemana de prendas de vestir Roy Robson ha intensificado sus ataques contra Teksif, organización afiliada a IndustriALL, en su fábrica en Esmirna, Turquía. Esta represión se realiza a pesar de la intensa campaña mundial contra las políticas antisindicales del sector patronal. IndustriALL ha presentado una queja contra la empresa a la Asociación Alemana en favor de la Industria Textil Sostenible por violación de los Convenios 87 y 98 de la OIT.

IndustriALL files complaint against Roy Robson as union busting continues

24 April, 2018Despite a global campaign against union busting, German fashion brand Roy Robson has escalated its attacks on IndustriALL Global Union affiliate Teksif at its factory in Izmir, Turkey. IndustriALL has filed a complaint against the company to the German Partnership for Sustainable Textiles for violation of ILO Conventions 87 and 98.

100 jobs lost as Nigeria’s textile sector continues to decline

13 April, 2018Chellco Industry Limited in Kaduna, Nigeria, plans to retrench 100 workers as textile factories struggle to cope with increased costs including recent tariff increases of 5 to 20 per cent. Further, the increased cost of electricity, which makes up to 50 per cent of operating costs, make the factories blankets, shawls and bed covers more expensive than those imported from China.
